I’m always on the look out for something new to bring to our family Easter gathering. We do have our sacred food traditions but as foodies we love to try new things. Here are a few we thought you’d like too!
Centerpiece Idea: I love using fresh flowers on my table at Easter. A simple, low vase of tulips is my favorite. But, isn’t this eggshell, Daisy arrangement from Pinterest beautiful! I thought this would be cute on my kitchen counter.
Greet my family with a glass of sparkling water or Prosecco: Everyone wants to feel welcomed and what better way than with a pretty glass of Prosecco or sparkling water. My favorite prosecco is LaMarcha. S.Pellegrino is my go-to sparkling water and I just place bottles on the table so people can help themselves during the meal.
Appetizers: Cucumbers or radishes are a fun springtime choice. Cut an English cucumber into 1/4 inch slices and top with a dollop of Artichoke Jalapeno Dip from Costco – so yummy! Other topping options: Boursin garlic & herb cheese dip, or Tzatziki sauce. All of these toppings would be delicious with radishes as well.
Salad: The Moroccan Carrot & Chickpea Salad is a perfect pairing with lamb, pork, and your Easter ham! Seriously, I dream about this salad – it’s so delicious and beautiful. Easy to make ahead, and portable. Tip: If you make it ahead, just remove it from the fridge 30 minutes before serving for maximum flavor.
Dessert: If you have a classic foodie style, why not make a homemade Coconut cake – yum! My go-to recipe comes from the Barefoot Contessa, it’s amazing. If your foodie style preference is to assemble desserts, then wow your family with some French Macaroons from your bakery!
