Candy hearts – Valentine’s sweet sentiments!
I started my day by finding candy hearts on my computer and journal this morning, how sweet is that?! It doesn’t take a big gift to earn points with me! Thank you Mr. W! XOXO
Although, I am hoping for jewelry as well ….
Our Valentine’s Day tradition includes cooking dinner together and watching a romantic movie. How fun is that? I like to add “red” items to the menu so this year we’ll toast the evening with a Kir Royale (Proseco and Cassis with a couple of fresh raspberries) so beautiful and yummy. I’m trying a new appetizer recipe that I found in an old Fine Cooking magazine called; Pear, cranberry, and blood orange mostarda that we’ll spread on crostini with Camembert cheese – love a sweet and savory combination. Kevin is making the entree; Rubbed and grilled pork tenderloin with apple bourbon bbq sauce, accompanied by steamed asparagus- yum! Recipes can be found on the Simple & Delicious Recipe page or click here.
Dessert … chocolate of course! My new favorite Talenti double chocolate gelato is out of this world. I’m serving it with a scoop of Talenti vanilla bean gelato as well and a chocolate biscotti. Ok, we had to try it last night to make sure it was worthy of our Valentine’s Day dinner… oh yeah, it’s divine!
The movie selection is still up in the air. My all time, favorite romantic movie is Love Affair with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. The remake with Annette Benning and Warren Beatty is fabulous too. Then there is The Holiday, Return to Me, Somethings Gotta Give, Officer and A Gentle, Valentine’s Day, and Love Actually – just to name a few! So what will it be tonight…
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your sweetie! Don’t forget to have a piece of chocolate…
