Like you, I’m looking forward to celebrating our Easter traditions, catching up on all the family news, and of course, the great food – I can smell that ham already! Yum…
As the wise Henri Charpentier said; “Carve a ham as if you were shaving the face of a friend.”
I’m a fan of Ina Garten, The Barefoot Contessa’s Baked Virginia Ham recipe. It’s so good and so easy! And you know us foodies, we love to share good things. So, here you go:
1 fully cooked spiral-cut smoked ham (8 lbs will serve 10 people)
6 garlic cloves, peeled
3/4 cup Major Grey’s Mango Chutney
1/2 cup Dijon mustard
1 cup light brown sugar
Zest of 1 orange
1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the ham on a heavy roasting pan. Mince the garlic in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a steel blade. Add the chutney, mustard, brown sugar, orange zest, and orange juice and process until smooth. Pour the glaze over the ham and bake for 1 hour, or until the ham is fully heated and the glaze is well browned. Serve hot or at room temperature. Enjoy!
Wine Pairing Suggestions: Chateau St. Michelle Reisling or Hahn GSM – a blend of Grenache, Syrah & Mourvedre.
Here’s to you and your family as you create a memorable Easter holiday!
