Three of this years Best Picture nominees take place in France; The Artist, Hugo, & Midnight In Paris. So, I’ve decided to create a menu featuring french appetizers and desserts that are easy to make and will wow my friends. Too fun!
To make sure my Oscar party will be a memorable event, I’m going to serve my guests a Welcome glass of Kir Royal as they arrive, settle in and watch Billy Crytal open the show – so glad he’s back to host! I’ll place bowls of cashews around for nibbling with their cocktail and completing their voting ballets.
About 30 minutes later, I’ll bring out the appetizers and place them on a dining table within viewing distance of the TV so no one misses their favorite category! I’m serving a combination of hot, room temperature and cold appetizers on large platters so I don’t have to be in the kitchen constantly replenishing a platter – I want to be a part of the party with my friends! I’ve asked each of my guests to bring a bottle of wine to share and will set the wine bar up in the kitchen along with the desserts- making sure the TV is turned on to the Oscar Show!
