One of our favorite traditions is watching the Academy Awards. I can’t wait to see my favorite stars on the red carpet and glimpses of Wolfgang Puck preparing his signature menu for the Governors Ball. Too fun!
Once again,Wolfgang is drawing upon vintage and contemporary Hollywood glamour to create a menu that is sure to be legendary. According to the press his “signature dishes” will of course be on the menu. Many stars request his chicken pot pie, the mini American Wazu Burger, and his legendary 24K gold chocolate Oscars – yum!
Here are a few of my Oscar worthy “signature dishes” that are pefect for a viewing of 2 or a larger party:
Red Carpet Appetizers:
Contemporary Cheese Platter featuring a Danish blue cheese, Prima donna, & aged Cheddar
Don’t forget the condiments! Honey comb, fresh or dried figs, olives, & Marcona Almonds.
Vintage Shrimp Cocktail make it modern by grating fresh horseradish into your cocktail sauce and
serve the shrimp in martini glasses for a vintage look!
Coppola Rosso Wine
Classic Chicken Pot Pie bake individual pot pies in small ramekin dishes.
Tip: make these the night before and reheat while your watching the Red Carpet interivews.
Place the ramekins on white dinner plates and add a simple green salad. So Oscar worthy!
My go-to recipe is from Ina Garten – click here for the recipe.
Popcorn & Candy Bar:
set our big bowls of popcorn, licorice, Junior Mints, Milk Duds, or your favorite movie candies!
Toast your favorite winners with a classic cocktail
Cosmopolitan’s or the perfect Manhatten – served in gold rim glasses will be my beverage of choice!
Micheal’s craft store is a great resource for colored sugars to rim your glasses.
I like to use the Wilton brand – they have the largest color selection.
