Canti-Gavi is the perfect summer wine, it’s delicate floral aromas with flavors of green apple, honeydew and a hint of lemon make it ideal for these last days of summer. It’s wonderful for sipping on your deck, pair it with a farm-to-table salad, grilled shrimp or my favorite pairing – a cheese board starring Peaches & Prosciutto crositni – now that’s a perfect pairing!
Fresh cheeses always taste good in the summer, alongside fresh herbs and farmer’s market produce. They’re light, mild and great for outdoor entertaining. One of my favorite summer cheese boards to serve with Cant-Gavi is: Mascarpone with Peaches, Basil and Prosciutto. Toast some baguette rounds and schmear each one with mascarpone. On each round, place a piece of thinly sliced prosciutto, a slice of ripe peach, and a basil leaf. Drizzle with olive oil and a crank of fresh ground pepper – easy, fresh, and yummy! Cheers!
