I’m dreaming of the amazing food and wine pairings we experienced at the Una Sera Italiana Event this weekend hosted by Famiglia Meschini. Eugenio’s famiglia from Italy brought their italian Cucina to Minneapolis and dazzled 200 people with their culinary talents along with their spectacular wines from their vineyard – Fattoria Colmone della Marca. Thank you to the Meschini family for a memorable celebration of food and wine – and for making us feel like famiglia!
We started the evening with a glass of Famiglia Meschini Torrontes or Malbec – my two favorites! I’ve been a fan of Famiglia Meschini wines for quite some time, in fact their Torrontes and Malbec-Syrah are know as our “house wines!” Too fun!
First Course: Scrigno Di Pere (Pear Strudel) and Eggplant Parmigiana paired with Bianco DelMoro – a White Sangiovese. Wow! A beautiful presentation and tantalizing experience for any foodie palate!
Second Course: Rissoto Al Radicchio paired with Ill Ciarliero – a Sparkling Red Vernaccia. Fabulous pairing for a earthy, comforting rissotto.
Third Course: Taglilatelle Vecchia Maneira paired with RePiero – a Cabernet Sauvignon/Petit Verdot. Heavenly!
Fourth Course: Lamb in a Crust of Potatoes paired with Ciacco – Montepulciano/Sangiovese – Melt in your mouth, match made in heaven!
Dessert: Tocchetto Al Cioccolato (homemade ice cream with chocolate fudge) paired with Famiglia Meschini Sparkling Torrontes. Perfect pairing and ending for a perfect dinner!
My “Must-Do” list for this week:
1. Stock my wine rack with Bianco DelMoro, Ill Ciarliero, Ciacco from Fattoria Colomone della Marca
2. Restock with Famiglia Meschini Torrontes, Malbec, and Malbec-Syrah.
A foodie must have their priorities!
