One of my favorite childhood Christmas traditions was making cookies with my mom, sister, and grandma. Those memories are just as fresh and special today as they were back then. I can still smell the gingerbread men baking in grandma’s oven and see the bowls of green frosting waiting for our eager hands to help decorate the tree shaped sugar cookies! Too fun!
At the age of 8, I thought our holiday cookie baking day was about laughing, eating the broken cookies, and being so proud of decorating the most beautiful cookies in the world. Today, I realize that special day was more about creating memories and instilling the feeling of love, security and tradition. My mom and grammy would be so happy to see that tradition has continued with the next generation.
Take a look at how my neices and nephews are continuing this great tradition with their families – simply the cutest kids on earth! Since I’m bragging, I’m so proud the love of cooking and entertainng has been passed to the next generation. XOXO
Happy cookie baking!
