I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are enjoying Cyber Monday! The Holiday Entertaining season is in full swing so here are three tips to keep your cool, wow your friends, and have fun in the process!
1. Keep it Simple. The holidays are all about creating memories for your family and friends through good food and good entertaining. When I first started entertaining I would come up with a menu on Monday night and then I’d spend all week pouring through cookbooks looking for the perfect side dish or the perfect desert only to end up so confused I didn’t know what to make! You know what I discovered? I always came back to my original menu! So don’t over plan, come up with a menu, stick with it, and spend your time getting your self organized so you can feel confident and enjoy the time with your guests.
2. Serve Your Signature Dish. This tip will help you maintain your confidence and last minute jitters! Over the years, I’ve developed a habit of always serving cheese when I entertain. It started out as a quick, safe, and easy appetizer. Well, guess what? It still is! I love cheese, and I’m always trying a new cheese at the market and sharing it with my family and friends. My signature dish, cheese, gives me one less thing to worry about when entertaining. Here are Three Cheese Platter Ideas for Holiday Entertaining Enjoy!
3. Add A Little Sparkle! It’s the holidays so bring out the glam and the glitter. Candles are the perfect glitter and can add a glamorous touch to your buffet table (use non scented candles around food), coffee tables, and bar area. Another way I add glam and glitter is to bring out my grandmothers silver tray. Bottles of wine and glasses look spectacular on silver!
Later this week, I’ll be posting some fabulous, fantastic, and fun holiday gift ideas for the foodie in your life later this week so stay tuned…
