The 30th Food & Wine Classic begins tomorrow in Aspen – this is by far my favorite food & wine event of the year. It’s held every year on Father’s Day weekend in downtown Aspen were more than 70 celebrity chefs and wine experts mingle with 5,000 enthusiastic foodies, sample products, host seminars & cooking demonstrations through out the weekend. According to Bobby Flay; “Anyone who’s anyone in the food business will be there!”
After the seminars and cooking demonstrations everyone gathers in the grand tent to sample wine and food – too fun! You can imagine my delight when I found myself standing next to Mario Batali, Giada DeLaurentis and Jacques Pepin!
This year’s cooking demonstrations include “Butchery for Beginners” with John Bess to the “Essentials” with Jaques and Claudine Pepin. Some noteworthy wine seminars; “209 Wine Pairings: An Insiders Guide by Marnie Old”, “208 Cheese & Wine Pairings by Laura Werlin”, and “Women in Wine, the Next Generation”.
