It’s National Hot Chocolate Day - my kind of day! What a great excuse to make a nice cup of homemade hot cocoa to keep me toasty warm this morning. I found an old box of Droste cocoa in my pantry, it’s unopened and I can’t find an expiration date. Oh well, here goes… I’m following the recipe on the side of the box: “2 tsp. Droste Cocoa, 2 heaping tsp. sugar. Mix cocoa and sugar in a cup or mug. Add enough water, milk or cream (hmmm, think I’ll treat myself to 2 % milk) to stir to a paste. Add one cup HOT milk stirring until mixed and serve.”
The results: Yummy! However, it would be better with the addition of peppermint schnapps – perhaps I’ll give that a try this afternoon…
