Only 3 days until Thanksgiving… I can smell that turkey already, yum! Last year I received a small, beautiful brass bell from a friend as a hostess gift. She described it was a “toasting bell” to be used during our thanksgiving dinner. The toasting bell plays an important role in her families holiday. Each member of the family gets to ring the bell and share what they’re grateful for. How cool is that?!
In preparation for the toasting bell debut at our thanksgiving meal, I’ve been researching and asking friends for their favorite quotes and toasts. Which will I use…
May rich blessings –
Plenty, Peace and Prosperity be yours this Thanksgiving Day.
And many good harvests to gladden you.
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!
For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, For love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
I just wanted to say a few words to mark the occasion. Spending time with family (and good friends) always feels warm and satisfying. Thank you to everyone who helped prepare this meal. We appreciate all the hard work you have done.
May we be granted to have our feet planted deeply in the past; our mind keenly absorbed with the present; and our minds directed unafraid toward the future.
I hope you enjoy these as much I do. Check out this website www.napastyle.com if you’d like to give a toasting bell – it’s one of my favorite things! Come back tomorrow for 3 easy & delicious leftover menus. See you then!
